Notarization adds a notary public’s signature and seal to your translator’s certificate of accuracy, verifying the translator’s identity — not the translation’s content. An apostille is a further certification, issued by a state authority, that makes a notarized document recognized in countries that are party to the Hague Apostille Convention. Most translation agencies treat both as a checkbox; we treat them as a real service with its own logistics, because they are one.

How apostille coordination works, step by step
- Confirm the destination. Apostille requirements vary by country and by which state issued your original document — tell us both.
- Notarize. Your translation’s certificate of accuracy is signed in front of a notary at our Westlake office.
- Submit for apostille. We coordinate the submission to the relevant state authority (the issuing state’s Secretary of State office, in most cases).
- Return to you. The apostilled document is returned to you digitally (a scan) and by mail if you’ve selected hard copies.
