Who we are

teda-translation ("we," "us," "our") is a translation and language-services business located at 27413 Westown Blvd, Westlake, OH 44145. This policy explains what information we collect through teda-translation.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you give us directly:

• Contact details: name, email address, phone number, and company name (optional), when you place an order or submit the quote form.
• Project details: source and target language, subject matter, deadline, and any special instructions you provide.
• Mailing address, only if you choose certified hard copies by mail as your delivery method.
• Document contents, when you send us a file to translate (by email, after ordering) — this is the most sensitive information we handle, and we treat it accordingly (see "Document confidentiality," below).
• Payment information entered at checkout is not transmitted to us or stored anywhere; our checkout currently runs in demonstration mode (see our Terms of Service).

Information collected automatically:

• Standard technical information (browser type, device type, pages visited) via Google Analytics 4, but only after you consent to analytics cookies — see "Cookies & analytics," below. We do not run any analytics or tracking script before you make a choice.

How we use your information

We use the information above to: process and deliver your order or quote request; communicate with you about your project, including deadlines and delivery; provide certified hard-copy mailing when you select it; maintain records required for our business and legal obligations; and, where you've consented, understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Document confidentiality

Documents you send us for translation are accessed only by the linguist(s) assigned to your project and the staff needed to deliver it — not by an open pool of vendors. Files are transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in access-controlled systems. We delete project files 90 days after your project is complete, unless you ask us in writing to retain the file for a future revision. For legal clients, we will sign a client-provided NDA before work begins.

Cookies & analytics

We use two categories of cookies/local storage:

• Essential — required for the site to function: your cart contents, your cookie-consent choice, and (during checkout) your order-in-progress. These load automatically and cannot be turned off, because the site cannot function without them.
• Analytics — Google Analytics 4, used to understand site traffic and improve the site. This loads only after you actively consent via the cookie banner. If you decline or don't respond, GA4 does not load, and no analytics cookie is set. You can change your choice anytime via "Cookie settings" in the footer. See our Cookie Policy for full detail.

We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies.

How long we keep information

• Document contents: 90 days after project completion, then deleted, unless you ask us to retain them for a future revision.
• Order and enquiry records (contact details, project metadata, not document contents): kept as needed for our business, accounting, and legal record-keeping obligations.
• Analytics data: governed by Google Analytics 4's standard retention settings, applicable only if you've consented to analytics cookies.

Your privacy rights

You can ask us, at any time, by emailing support@teda-translation.com, to: tell you what personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; delete your personal information (subject to our legitimate business and legal record-keeping needs); or delete a document you previously sent us. We will respond within a reasonable time, generally within 30 days.

California & other state privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) gives you additional rights: to know what personal information we've collected about you, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. Residents of other US states with comparable privacy laws (e.g., Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut) have similar rights; contact us at the email above to exercise them.

Data security

We use encrypted connections for data in transit and access-controlled systems for data at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security — but we limit access to your information and your documents to the people who need it to complete your order.

Children's privacy

teda-translation.com is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
